OutWood is a family owned business that strives to create and deliver only the best quality  manufactured products and interiors. The team is comprised of highly skilled and passionate artisans who take pride in the work they do. The specialist team comes with a combined pool of over 150 years’ experience, and are able to find a complete turnkey solution for any project – from custom wooden furniture for any interior space, to specialized equipment for large corporate and commercial entities.

As a multifunctional joinery, OutWood specialises in residential and commercial space management. Our residential and commercial manufacture include, but is not limited to, furniture, cabinets, shop fitting and interior design.

Some history of your company:

Rod Hughes started the business in 1994, before the name was changed to Rod Hughes Manufacturing 1996. The family owned company grew from strength to strength, and in 2013, Brandon Hughes joined his father before taking over the reins in 2016 and rebranding the company as OutWood (Pty) Ltd. However, even with Brandon now in charge of the family business, Rod is still consulting exclusively for OutWood. In the words of his son, Brandon, “How can you discard the 30 odd years of expertise when it’s a phone call away ”.

The items offered by OutWood are more than just products; every piece is crafted in a way that can almost be considered an art form. OutWood focuses on the provision of high quality items into a the market and takes pride in the attention to detail they maintain.

A unique service offered by OutWood is the time and talent of a specialized designer who can consult on the flow and design of interior spaces, both residential and commercial. By creating hand drawn artwork, 3D renders and detailed layouts, clients can visualize the final appearance of their space before any of the work has even begun

OutWood is based in Roodepoort, Gauteng, but services mainly Johannesburg, and South Africa as a whole.
